Some Library Science projects:

LIS 303 LEA, "Literature and Resources for Children" with Kate MCDowell:

I think this is the funnest paper I got to write this semester. This paper challenges traditional notions of "subversive" and "heroic" in children's literature by looking at social orders and literary contexts.

LIS 380 LE, "Information Organization and Access" with Stephen Downie:

A relational database assignment done in collaboration with "The Jackson Five."

A research tool for the fascinating field of bibliometrics, also brought to you by "The Jackson Five." (This is really your only chance to see me with an afro.)

A review of research about children and electronic research tools. (If you ever know anyone who needs to be pushed past the brink of madness just have them read this.)

LIS 404LEB, "Reference Sources and Services" with Melissa Wong:

A research paper and model for reconciling the ALA's right to confidentiality and required reporter status for school librarians.

A User's Guide for OCLC WorldCat.

LIS 406 LE, "Youth Services Librarianship: Principles and Practices in School and Public Libraries" with Christine Jenkins:

A research tool for Media Center Collaboration/Teaching Community Building in public schools, a combined effort by "The RainDogs."

A plan for facilitating "Full Integration" of the media center in a fictional high school

LIS 304 LEB, "Young Adult Literature" with Christine Jenkins:

A List of Anti-War Books

A History of My Life with Books

LIS 315 LE, "Networking Information Systems" with Pat Lawton:

An evaluation of the CASPR automation software and support created by Alyson Naimoli and Todd Heldt
